Lisbeth's not exactly full of woe, although she has been doing more cleaning today: her least favorite activity. Add to that the fact that she has been cleaning those places that have suffered severe neglect due to her lengthening trips to France, and you will have some idea of the scale of things. Indeed, she made it sound more like a safari in pursuit of man-eating dust bunnies than a day cleaning.
And while we're on the subject, does anyone remember that old TV advertisement for something called 'Shake-n-Vac': a powder that you shook over the carpet then vacuumed up? It had the jingle: "You've got to shake-n-vac to put the freshness back"? Well.................I happen to know that a) Lisbeth hated the smell of the product; b) the ad really irritated her and c) it was written by someone whom she later came to know really well.
